GAME PROJECTS
LIGHT IT UP
Light It Up is a game project I worked on together with other students at the University of Skövde.
I created this trailer for the game, producing unique assets to convey the story while also combining it with gameplay from the actual game.
I was responsible for creating all art assets shown in the first 30 seconds, including the logotype and animations. In the second half showing gameplay I created most of the backgrounds, the UI, the characters and some of the props.
These are character concepts of Lux, the main protagnist of the game. He’s a lighthouse keeper on a mission to replace the light crystal of his lighthouse. To do so he has to enter the crystal mine and get past the mysterious horrors lurking within.
When exploring styles I designed the cuckoo clock. This helped to decide the form language by trying out different silhouettes. Once the desired look was achieved, I made a finished version ready to be imported to the game.
Here is a random assortment of assets I created for the game, including the animation of the flame and the logotype.
KIOKU
Kioku is actually not a real game. It was a group exercise where the purpose was to produce a trailer for a made up game.
In this trailer I was responsible for producing the storyboard, the logotype for the company and I also hand-painted several of the textures for the 3D-models.
This was the storyboard for the trailer, where I went into detail regarding camera placement and movement. Among other things.
I did also help shape the environment of the game through these environment paintings. Using red and blue colours to display the height, along with a reference painting to show what the area looks like.
Here’s some of the assets that I hand-painted textures for, along with the logotype I created for the studio.
When hand-painting the textures I added a gradient to the colours. This added interest and also created an illusion of depth.
